The much anticipated Talanta 006 award went down on the 29th of December 2018, at the Vacani Resort. The event’s main aim was to award young talented 006ers in various artistic fields and it was organized by the county government and presided over by His Excellency Hon. Samboja.
And the winner of various accolades were as follows:
Spoken word, poems and stand ups category was clenched by Wanguci Raphael with Joseph Ndame and Jesse Kimani taking the second and third respectively. The eccentric and eye-catching Peter Wafula won the Dance’s special category followed by Lucy Nzembi and Joshua Mbiko, while Taveta based Noble Dancers pipped Cub Crew and Sting Classic to win the dance group category.
In the singing category, japhel Wilson proved better than most to win the best rap ahead of Blessings Kizongona and Raymond Jumwa while in the secular category, Samuel Mwasikwa was the winner followed by Abubaka Salim and Mwangila William. Naomi Juma, also from Taveta, won the best gospel to land a recording deal with Still Alive records ahead of Mwaviswa Love and Javan Mwagholi.
Alex Muasya was crowned the next top Dj in 006 followed by Joshua Mwakideu and Brian Alfred. And the crème-de-la-crème, Lizzie Mwako and Joshua Mwakideu were crowed Mr. and Miss Culture 2019.
The evening hosted a decent array of guests, politicians and A-lists who natives from this great county and was hosted by Citizen’s Mzazi Willy M. Tuva. What a night it was!
